On Saturday night I went once again to the Baked Potato to check out the great jazz-fusion band, CAB.

Speaking of which, lots of interesting upcoming shows at the Baked Potato for July. Virgil, Mike Keneally, and CAB. I will have a very busy week near the end of the month, when all my concerts are going to happen pretty much at the same time. Opeth, Dream Theater, Mars Volta, Eric Johnson... It never ends.

Before that, I will probably go see the free Dub Side of the Moon show in Santa Monica this coming Thursday (thanks to monkey for the tip!). I really liked the album, a reggae cover of the Dark Side Of The Moon album by Pink Floyd, and it would be great to see it performed live, especially for free.

In other news, I got my new bass more than a week ago but I returned it to Musician's Friend as the headstock was chipped during shipping. They're shipping me a replacement today, so hopefully I'll have it back by the end of the week. It's a really cool instrument, and works great through my guitar pedal and amp. Though I think I'll probably adjust the action as the strings are really quite high from the neck.
